Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Smartphone for T-Mobile
Nokia has announced that its first Windows Phone that is head to the United States, the Lumia 710 will be for T-Mobile. The handset was initially announced back in October at the Nokia World conference alongside the high-end Lumia 800. The T-Mobile version of the Lumia 710 is very similar to the international version, except for a few additions such as support for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ “4G” network and some special color options. Other than that it features basically the same features such as a 3.7-inch, ClearBlack LCD display, it is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it gets 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
The specifications continues with a 5-megapixel camera on the rear of the Windows-powered smartphone that has LED-flash, there is a microSD card slot for expanding the device’s memory and a 1300mAh battery that promises to deliver up to 6.9 hours of talk time or 16.5 days of standby time. It also comes pre-loaded with Windows Phone 7.5, there’s also Nokia’s new Drive application – the only free turn-by-turn navigation system available for the platform, it gets an exclusive ESPN app that allows the user to pin their favorite team to the homescreen to see updates on the windows live tile. It also comes with a few of T-Mobile’s applications as well such as T-Mobile TV app, the Weather Channel app, and the Netlfix app for Windows Phone on the Lumia 710.
T-Mobile will be offering the Lumia 710 in the colors of black or white for the price of $49.99 with a new two year contract starting on January 11 plus customers who purchase the Lumia 710 can expect to receive support from Nokia if they choose, Nokia is offering personal tech support for any 710 buyer for free during the handset’s lifespan.
