HTC Thunderbolt Smartphone owners might be smiling after seeing this news update, the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update is imminent. An apparent official build of the ICS ROM for the Thunderbolt has been leaked online, so if you have the know-how on flashing customs ROMS, you might want to give it a try.

The leak was made available from the Team BAMF, the leaked update will update the Thunderbolt to Android 4.0.3 and introduce HTC Sense 3.6 as well. If you want to check out the Android 4.0.3 ICS Update for HTC Thunderbolt, you can head over to Team BAMF’s website for the details.

The ROM, which is marked as build number 7.00.605.2 brings Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich as well as HTC Sense 3.6. Since this is a leaked copy of the update/rom, there could still be some issues that are present and there’s also a great chance that this isn’t the final ICS build for the Thunderbolt.

The carrier announced that the update would be available over-the-air and will add several new features and improve performance of the DROID 4.

One of the main highlights of the Android 4.0 update is that it enables Global Roaming, which allows subscribers who add international calling to use their phones in more than 200 countries. The update also brings improved image processing in the Camera app, better connectivity when using Mobile Hotspot, and fewer device resets.

In addition to the improvements, there are some new features such as an enhanced notification drawer, tools to monitor data usage, a new home screen launcher, improved lock screen, and a new form of multitasking. Verizon will start sending out update notifications to DROID 4 users on August 13, 2013 but it might take sometime for every user to receive the notification.
