ELSE Linux-Based Smartphone Specifications

First Else Mobile Phone
Just a few days ago Emblaze Mobile unveiled in London its first ELSE Linux-Based touchscreen smartphone. The phone is based on ACCESS Linux Platform 3.0, which jointly developed by ACCESS and Emblaze.

It features a 3.47-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 480×854 pixel resolution, 256MB RAM and 16GB internal flash memory with a sleek black casing and is powered by TI’s OMAP 3430 (ARM Cortex A8) processor that powers also iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre and Motorola Droid. There is also a 5 megapixel camera with advanced stabilization technology, 480p video recording at 30fps and autofocus. The handset includes ACCESS Linux Platform v3.0 Advanced UI Engine that enables advanced graphical effects and supports full hardware graphics acceleration via OpenGL ES 2.0.

Other features includes WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity, Bluetooth and GPS Navigation, it is expected to be released in Q2 2010.

Yesterday the First ELSE handset was unveiled. The First ELSE aims to have the phone as an application of the device, rather than being the centre of that device. The phone will be hitting the market in the second quarter of 2010.

They took a swipe at apple when they demonstrated grabbing your iPhone to capture a video of your kid: “the phone rings and you lose your Kodak moment”, while First ELSE aims to have the phone as an application of the device, rather than being the centre of that device. Dell Mini 3i OPhone Now in China

Dell Mini 3i Smartphone
The first unit of the Dell Mini 3i will be sold in China on the China Mobile Network. The Dell Mini 3 Smartphone will feature in China, applications of China Mobile’s new “OPhone” and Mobile Market platforms. It will be available in the colors of Red Passion and Oiled Bronze colors.

The Chinese consumers will be the first to experience its large 3.5-inch widescreen, a range of consumer applications, pre-loaded 139Mail e-mail, Fetion chat and digital maps for navigation. Some of the specs that wasn’t confirmed before are the 3 megapixel camera with zoom, auto-focus, flash, video capture and photo-editing capabilities, Mini USB, Bluetooth Connectivity and support for microSD cards up to 32GB.

Acer DX900 Dual SIM PDA

Acer DX900 Dual SIM PDA
Acer will be unveiling their Dual SIM PDA called the Acer DX900 at the MWC as its first smartphone.

The dual SIM phone was designed by ETEN (ETEN Glofiish DX900), which has been acquried by Acer. The DX900 will also come on the market as the first dual sim phone to support HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE connectivity.

The Acer DX900 is powered by a Samsung S3C 6400 533 MHz processor, 256MB of ROM and 128MB of RAM. The phone runs the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and has features such as a 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video calls and a 3 Megapixel auto focus camera. There is a 2.8-inch touchscreen display which has a 468×640 pixel resolution. The phone will also feature WiFi and Bluetooth Connectivity.

Acer will unveil the phone at the Mobile World Congress and afterward the phone will be available for pre-order for just about GBP 395.

Samsung Ego GT-S9402
Samsung has announced a new luxury mobile phone called the Ego GT-S9402. The Samsung Ego is made from a material called “liquidmetal” or composite alloy which was developed by Caltech. The new luxury mobile phone also features 2 SIM cards capability, 1 GB of built-in memory, microSDHC memory card slot (supports up to 8 GB), 2 inch 262K color QVGA AMOLED display, 2 Megapixel, a 5MP camera which comes with the whole works autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection, WDR and LED flash.

The Phone is expected to be sold for a whopping cost of approximately 1200 euros. There is no production information available as yet. Stay tuned for more information.

World’s Second Android Phone

Kogan Mobile Phone
Today the Australian manufacturer Kogan announced the release of the world second Android Phone. The Kogan Agora and the Kogan Agora Pro both handset features a 2.5-inch TFT touchscreens, QWERTY keyboards, 3G support, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, FM radio and a microSD memory card slots. However the Agora Pro will also add a 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a GPS receiver to the feature pack.

The Agora and Agora Pro will first hit the shelves in Australia and hit the US by the end of January 2009. The Agora pro will be going for a price of 190 US dollars (299 AUD) and the Agora for 250 US dollars (399 AUD).
