Vertu, a subsidiary of Nokia, is getting ready to launch its new luxury phone called Vertu Ascent X. The Ascent X was recently approved by the FCC and we found two photos of it, as well as some of its specs. It features a 2-inch QVGA display, A-GPS Function, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash which is a first for a Vertu handset.

The Vertu Ascent X has quad-band GSM (850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz) and quad-band UMTS/HSUPA (800 / 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) connectivity, so it can be used almost anywhere in the world. There is also email and Bluetooth, there has been no details on when it will be released.

Vertu Signature Pure Black Mobile Phone
Vertu, a popular manufacturer of luxury mobile phones has introduced uts new Signature Pure Black Handset. The Signature Pure Black is specially handcrafted using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) technique which is used when designing watches.

The technique involves vaporizing a block of Titanium Carbide at extremely high temperatures using a plasma beam in a vacuum chamber to create an extremely hard and scratch resistant surface. This sexy new black model is designed in collaboration with the Galleria in Milan Nilufar and is available at the Vertu boutique, it is priced at $14,835 per device.

Vertu Daigo, Kinkou, Kikusui and Nanten Mobile Phones
Vertu has just introduced its new Signature Kissho (吉祥) series on the Japanese Market. The Signature Kissho Series consist of four models, Daigo, Kinkou, Kikusui and Nanten, one for each season. The Vertu Signature Kissho features a color display, 4GB internal memory, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.

Each of the luxury phones were hand-crafted back cover with flower patterns matching that particular season. It supports quad-band GSM/EDGE networks and dual band 850/2100 MHz 3G WCDMA networks. Each unit is priced at 20 Million Yen, see more photos after the jump.

Here is another overpriced Luxury phone from Vertu. The Vertu Constellation Pure is a member of the Vertu Constellation series. The mobile phone comes in two different finishes, Black and White. The Black Version on the handset features a PVD treated steel, ceramic keyboard and a stain resistant leather back while the white version features polished steel, ceramic keyboard and a stain resistant leather back.

The Vertu Constellation Pure will be available as of march 1st and will be retailed for a price of $8,700.

Luxury Phone may be the last thing you want to hear about in these problematic financial times but I must tell you about the Vertu Boucheron 150 Luxury Phone that was made by Vertu for French jewelry house Boucheron Paris as a celebration to their 150th anniversary. The handset took 1,000 hours to cut into shape, 700 hours to hand polish and more than 500 hours to build.

The Vertu Boucheron was made from solid gold, durable sapphire crystal keypad and comes with a wooden case made from Noce Pedullo walnut tree by the Swiss house Reuge.
