Google’s Nexus One Smartphone is Officially Dead

Google Nexus One SmartphoneToday Google says goodbye to its Nexus One Smartphone. The Nexus One was first introduced in January of 2010 and quickly became the “the word” on Gadget and Technology Blogs. However the Android-Powered handset didn’t become a sales chart topper, in its first 74 days of availability, it was predicted that Google managed to sell only 135,000 units of the Smartphone. I guess they really tired to get the handset more appealing to customers by giving it the Android Froyo 2.2 Update, but evidently that didn’t work.

The handset boasted a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 480×800 AMOLED display, and runs the Android 2.1 Eclair OS. Sometime last week Google announced that they have received the last shipment of Nexus Ones and this week they say Goodbye.

Google Nexus One gets Android Froyo 2.2 Update


Owners of the Google Nexus One is probably smiling right now with the recently update they got or if you haven’t got it as yet, the Android 2.2 update is available for the Nexus One via a direct link or through an over-the-air update. The update is a mere 1MB so it shouldn’t take long to download and only applies to customers of T-Mobile and AT&T.
