Verizon Wireless has finally launched its Eco-friendly Illusion Smartphone just in time for the holiday season, the new Samsung Illusion comes in a package that was constructed using recyclable material and even its body casing has recycled materials in its construction. Feature-wise it comes equipped with a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display with a 320×480 pixel resolution and the Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, the Illusion is powered by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, it has a 3-Megapixel camera on the rear of the device but no front facing snapper.
According to Samsung, 70 percent of the rear casing and battery cover and 35 percent of the front casing is made from post-consumer materials. The packaging that the device is shipped in is made from bleach-free paper and was printed with vegetable ink and the box was made up of 60% recycled materials. The Illusion runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread and comes with a charger that has full-charge alarm, which helps to save electricity. Verizon Wireless will start selling the Illusion online November 23 for the price of $79.99 with a new two-year contract and will hit stores in the new year.
