It has been a big topic in my mind for a long time now, “when is RIM going to make a 1Ghz Phone”, Well there has been a few talks of a new Torch 2 coming, and today we have found live photos of the device all courtesies of BGR. There has been a few rendering circulating but these are not renderings. There is no word on when RIM is planning to unveil this new device but what we can expected from the Torch 2 is a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a 640×480 pixel resolution, a 5-megapixel camera with flash, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 512MB of RAM and a 1.2GHz Processor. Other specs also includes Near Field communication support, WiFi, 3G, GPS Navigation and OpenGL support for 3D graphics.
It will come running the Blackberry OS 6.1 along with a few advances in technology which includes apps such as a magnetic compass which shows in what direction you are facing, like its predecessor it will also feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, microUSB port for charging and connectivity plus a headphone jack as well. It is expected to be announced next month at Blackberry World for AT&T and should be released by summer.
